Alfa Laval's SX series of rotary lobe pumps with fourteen pump head displacements ranging from 0.05 to 3.8 liters per revolution conform to 3A and FDA requirements. According to the company, the pumps were designed for cleanability by CIP and SIP and facilitate more frequent and rapid cleaning cycles demanded by modern batch production.
