Dapec's digital grading system uses current vision technology to perform a variety of tasks in the grading of birds. With user-selectable parameters, the system is capable of monitoring up to nine grades including missing or damaged parts, discoloration, bruises, remaining feathers and torn skin. The system reports the percentage of birds in the various grades and reasons for failing. A high-resolution color CCD camera is used to take photos of every bird that passes through the system. It is interfaced with specially developed software through a conventional PC.
