By combining the capabilities of digital Gigabit Ethernet cameras and dual processing technology, Applied Vision says it has made machine vision more cost efficient. The company’s Genius vision systems use the longer transmission links of Gigabit Ethernet cameras combined with dual-processing CPU hardware to inspect more production lanes with less cost per lane. With up to 100-ft. cable lengths, the cameras can be mounted farther from the CPU, increasing the number of lines that can be inspected with one CPU. Dual processors allow as many as four cameras to be run from one CPU rack.
