Allied Blending & Ingredients is opening a new processing facility in the greater Los Angeles area that features packaging capabilities from 5 lbs. to 2,000-lb. totes and a Dairy 3-A line. The new 40,000-sq.-ft. plant has five process lines, including four dry blending lines and one liquid production line.
Ruggiero Seafood is expanding its Newark, NJ, processing facility. The addition will include more kitchen, processing and cooler space. A 55,000-sq.-ft., high-rise, distribution freezer will also be built.
Sara Lee Corp. finalized plans for The Kitchens of Sara Lee, a multi-million-dollar, 150,000-sq.-ft. R&D facility in Downers Grove, IL. The site will include culinary facilities; product, packaging and equipment development and testing; sensory services; a pilot operations facility and more.
