KUKA Robotics’ KR 500 robot is fitted with a specialized end-of-arm tool that allows users to streamline distribution by palletizing and de-palletizing products by layers. The robot is capable of handling up to a 570 kg payload, which is needed to handle the increased weights presented by layers of products. The six-axis robot has a reach of up to 3,326 mm and is fitted with a specialized head. The mixed layer pallet concept is suitable for food and beverage processors who receive pallet orders containing mixed products.
