Nestlé has launched a new research program on the specific nutritional needs of athletes engaged in different kinds of sports. The program will provide data to help support a more personalized approach to sports nutrition.

Dunkin’ Brands, the parent company of Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins, appointed Nigel Travis as its CEO. Travis served as president and CEO of Papa John’s.

Cargill Corn Milling, producer of corn sweeteners and other value-added food, feed and fermentation products, received the 2008 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the highest Presidential honor awarded to organizations for innovation and performance excellence.

InBev reached an agreement with the US Department of Justice that permits the completion of its proposed acquisition of Anheuser-Busch Companies. Inc.

The American Dairy Products Institute (ADPI) announced the creation of the ADPI Jim Page Memorial Scholarship. It was created in memory of James J. Page who enjoyed a distinguished marketing career in the dairy industry and demonstrated exceptional leadership skills while serving as the chief executive officer of ADPI from 2002 through 2008.

Emerson has acquired 100% of outstanding System Plast S.p.A. shares. System Plast S.p.A. is part of Emerson Power Transmission, a division of the Emerson Industrial Automation business segment. Based in Telgate Italy, System Plast is a producer of engineered modular belts and custom conveyor components used in the bottling, baking, food processing and packaging industries.  

Jim Williams

Jim Williams, a veteran of 30 years as a senior executive of Barry-Wehmiller, accepted a corporate role as senior operations advisor.

Dr. Zhinong Yan has joined Mol Industries as senior food safety scientist. Dr. Yan will oversee the microbial safety approaches of ThermoDrive belting as they are applied in food processing facilities.

Pepperl+Fuchs and Systec & Services GmbH, a system integration provider that offers comprehensive IT integration and production management solutions to the life science and regulated industries, entered into a strategic partnership agreement.
