Solid shaft rollers for the conveyor belt contribute to the sanitary operation of the system. Contamination detection and mass measurement algorithms enhance detection accuracy of low-density glass, stone and bone contaminants. Depending on the application, the system detects 0.3 to 0.8mm metal sphere contaminants, 0.2/0.3 x 2mm-long wire and 2.0 to 3.0mm glass and stone; the mass measurement feature provides simultaneous weighing and data tracking.
