Kraft Foods will expand its production facility in Avon, NY, creating 50 full-time jobs. The expansion includes a new Lunchables production line which will increase manufacturing capacity by a third.

Circle Foods opened its new production facility in San Diego County, CA, doubling its total production capacity in producing tortillas and ethnic foods. The new facility contains 132,000 sq.-ft. of manufacturing and warehouse space, which is capable of producing fresh, refrigerated and frozen foods.

Sara Lee will open a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Kansas City, KS, The 187,000 sq.-ft. facility, valued at more than $130 million, is expected to be fully operational by 2011 and will produce sliced meat for Hillshire Farm and Sara Lee brands.

Exel will operate a new warehouse in Social Circle, GA, on behalf of its long-time customer General Mills. The 1.5 million sq.-ft. facility will be operational by mid-2010 and will serve General Mills’ customers in the southeastern US.

Melitta USA will modernize its Cherry Hill, NJ, roasting facility. The multi-million dollar renovation project will increase efficiency and improve quality and safety at its 90,000 sq.-ft. plant.

The Coca Cola Company installed a new $29 million, hot-fill production line at its Waco, TX, Minute Maid plant. The line increases the capacity of non-carbonated beverages, which include PowerAde, Vitamin Water and Minute Maid Juice-To-Go products.
