Annual awards program recognizes outstanding leadership in foodservice safety.

Foodservice operators, manufacturers, researchers and members of academia must submit nominations for the 2010 Food Safety Leadership Awards (FSLA) program by Friday, January 29, 2010, according to NSF International.

Winners will be recognized in one of eight awards categories: education, training, equipment design, packaging innovation, product development, research advances, system improvement, and technology breakthroughs. One individual will be recognized with a lifetime achievement award for his/her significant contributions to advancing food safety.

The 2010 FSLA award recipients will be announced at the Food Safety Summit on Wednesday, April 14, 2010, the morning prior to the keynote speech at the Washington, D.C. Convention Center.

This will be the third year that the NSF International awards ceremony will take place at the Food Safety Summit, the largest and most established food safety exposition in North America. The summit covers important issues in food safety, quality assurance and food security.

Nominations will be evaluated by an independent panel of food safety experts based on creativity, innovation, design, contribution to the advancement of food safety, and overall quality of contributions made. The program guidelines are available on NSF's Web site.

Nomination information is available here or by calling 800-673-6275 (x 5627) or 734-827-5627.
