Beech-Nut Nutrition Corporation hosted a grand opening ceremony at its new 650,000-sq.-ft. infant food production facility in the Town of Florida, NY. The facility represents a $124 million investment.

Cargill’s US meat business plans to invest $14.7 million to create a new facility with research, development, culinary, laboratory, pilot plant and distribution capabilities in Wichita, KS. The 75,000-sq.-ft., two-story complex is expected to open in June 2011.

The Sabra Dipping Company opened a new plant in Colonial Heights, VA. The facility will create approximately 260 jobs and more than doubles Sabra’s manufacturing capacity.

Steuben Foods is planning a $52 million expansion to its Elma, NY plant, which could add approximately 150 workers in the next few years. The expansion will add about 90,000 sq. ft. to its already-existing 300,000-sq.-ft. operation.

Kraft Foods has leased a 937,308-sq.-ft. warehouse/distribution center in the Rickenbacker Global Logistics Park, located in Columbus, OH. The facility has access to rail, road and air transportation.

Cargill intends to construct a chicken processing facility at its complex in Efremov, Russia. The $30 million plant, which will open 2011, will have the capacity to produce 18,000 metric tons of further processed chicken products per year.
