Sara Lee Corp. appointed Sean Connolly as chief executive officer of its North American retail and foodservice business. Connolly will serve as chief executive officer of MeatCo (Sara Lee’s North American meats business) following the spin off of its international coffee and tea business, expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2012.

Campbell Soup Company appointed Mark Alexander as president of Campbell North America. Alexander will lead Campbell’s North America soup, sauces and beverages business, Campbell Canada, and Campbell’s North America foodservice business, which collectively account for approximately $4.6 billion in annual revenue.

 Andrew George Ross joined ConAgra Foods, Inc. as its executive vice president and chief strategy officer, reporting to Gary Rodkin, CEO.

 Jon Davis was appointed CEO of Davisco Foods International, Inc.

Land O’Lakes, Inc. appointed Beth Ford as its executive vice president, chief supply chain & operations officer.

Adept Technology named John Boutsikaris as its senior vice president of sales and marketing.

Centre Partners, a middle-market private equity firm, acquired Bellisio Foods, Inc., together with the management team of Bellisio.

ConAgra Foods, Inc. completed its acquisition of National Pretzel Company, based in Lancaster, PA, from Brookstone Holdings.

Kenneth Wuestenfeld joined Fuchs North America as vice president of sales & business development, and Felix Venezuela joined as the new director of operations. The company also appointed Edward Harazak as its senior food scientist.

IPPE 2015

The 2015 International Production and Processing Expo (IPPE) was held in Atlanta at the Georgia World Congress Center, Jan. 27-29. More than 30,000 poultry, meat and feed industry representatives attended the event to interact with the 1,288 exhibitors on the show floor that covered more than 490,000 net square feet. At the show exhibitors demonstrated innovations in equipment, supplies and services utilized by firm in the production and processing of meat, poultry, eggs and feed products.
