MoreBel Brands USA expects to begin construction on its third US cheese plant. Located in Brookings, SD, the $100 million facility will initially hire 200 people. Within three years of its projected opening in 2013, the facility could provide jobs for as many as 400.
ConAgra Foods plans to expand its Orville Redenbacher’s microwave popcorn operations in Jasper County, IN. The company expects to invest $15.6 million to upgrade its Rensselaer plant where it will redesign its corn, slurry and salt systems, and add four microwave popcorn packaging lines.
Lactalis will build a new 61,300-sq.-ft. fresh mozzarella production facility behind its existing facility in Nampa, ID. The new plant is expected to begin operations by the spring of 2013, and will increase the output of Galbani brand cheese by 40 million pounds per year.
