
Maple Leaf Foods announced the sale of its Lethbridge, AB potato processing facility to Cavendish Farms. The terms of the deal have not been released, but Cavendish expects to retain all 135 employees at the 142,000 sq. ft. facility. The company will continue to produce and market all products formerly offered by Maple Leaf while maintaining existing customer relationships. The plant produces specialty potato products such as frozen French fries and has been HACCP-certified since 2001.
