Kontos Foods, Inc., a manufacturer and distributor of traditional Mediterranean foods, expanded its Paterson, NJ plant from 22,000 sq. ft. to 45,000 sq. ft. 

Cuisine Solutions opened a new $30 million plant in Sterling, VA. The 56,500-sq.-ft. facility expands the company’s capacity to produce menu items for fast-casual and restaurant chains, hotels, airlines, retailers and consumers using the sous-vide (under vacuum) cooking method. 
 
ConAgra Mills is expanding its Ultragrain milling capacity to accommodate retail food companies, QSR and other foodservice operators that are partially replacing traditional white flour with whole wheat flour. ConAgra Mills is realigning its Alton, IL mill to boost Ultragrain production and reconfiguring its Decatur, AL mill to add Ultragrain production. This expansion will be completed by July 2013. 
 
The J.M. Smucker Company will convert its existing Memphis production facility to a peanut butter manufacturing plant. The conversion requires an investment of $55.6 million. 
 
Global Food Group will locate a new manufacturing facility in Clinton, AR. The $4.7 million facility will produce retail sandwiches, quesadillas, tortillas and burritos.
 
Rich Products Corporation announced an $11 million expansion to its Waycross, GA manufacturing facility. The project will increase the plant’s size by 40 percent and increase manufacturing capacity about 30 percent.
