Judge dismisses Monster case

A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit brought by Monster Energy that was intended to halt a San Francisco city attorney investigation into the company's marketing practices. US District Judge Virginia Phillips ruled that Monster's requests would have impeded a lawsuit filed by city attorney Dennis Herrera, which accuses the company of misbranding its beverages and marketing the caffeinated drinks to children. The suit's dismissal clears the way for Herrera's case to proceed.
