Whole Foods says it will drop Chobani Greek yogurt from its stores in early 2014 to make room for new products that are less widely available.

A statement from Whole Foods cited its focus on “exclusive flavors, non-G.M.O. options and organic choices.” Chobani yogurt is made with milk from cows fed a diet containing GMO ingredients.

Whole Foods will require foods sold in its markets to disclose their GMO status by 2018.

"Though we have very limited distribution within Whole Foods, they have been an important partner of ours over the years," Chobani founder Hamdi Ulukaya says in a statement. "As the number one Greek yogurt brand in America using only natural ingredients, we share an affinity with Whole Foods and its shoppers. We know our fans love buying our products in their stores and we hope to continue our partnership moving forward."
