NETZSCH barrel emptying systems are based on a progressing cavity pump with a volume accuracy of +/-1%, within which a helix rotor rotates in a reverse-helix stator housing. The process creates conveying chambers with the same shape, in which a substance is moved to the mixing container in stable quantities; the systems regulate the material flow using the speed, irrespective of the medium’s viscosity. The pump is fitted with a follower plate on the inlet side; an elastomer collar on the plate provides airtight sealing of the barrel as it descends. A vacuum is created when the pump is turned on, enabling the system to automatically provide suction toward the bottom of the barrel.
