Innovators and other professionals involved in automating food, beverage and pharmaceutical processing will highlight the 2016 ISA Food and Pharmaceutical Industries (FPID) Symposium, March 14-15 in Cork, Ireland.

The event, hosted by the International Society of Automation (ISA) will explore how automation can help address critical challenges—relating to regulatory requirements, manufacturing costs, security threats and other concerns—within the food and pharmaceutical sectors. ISA says special attention will examine the role of automation technology and innovation in meeting longer-term global dynamics and demands.

Topics to be covered include: serialization, track and trace, data integrity, digitization, cybersecurity, automation/biotech, process optimization, automation to survive – industry 4.0, equipment effectiveness, and alarm management

The event also features presentations from two leaders in the automation field—Paul McKenzie, senior vice president of global biologics manufacturing & technical services at Biogen; and Peter Martin, vice president and fellow at Schneider Electric Company—who will deliver keynote addresses during the event.
