Nercon’s Live Roller metering and merging conveyor “stalls” products on the conveyor until they are in proper sequence; products are metered and merged without clamps, stops or sophisticated controls. The primary modular plastic belt has integrated rows of rollers and rollerless indexing pockets. A downstream exciter belt engages the primary belt’s rollers and drives them in a backward spinning motion. Products float on the roller sections until the rollerless chain section emerges, putting the product in forward motion on the indexing pocket. Simple plow rails or powered side rails merge multiple lanes into single file. The conveyor handles a range of packages including formed shell packages, trays and form/fill/seal bags and pouches.
