Constructed in eight months, Cabot Creamery's Montpelier, VT distribution center opens in June. At 62,000 square feet, the $6 million facility includes ten loading docks and a state-of-the-art ammonia refrigeration system.

Kahiki Foods' Gahanna, OH food processing plant opens in July. The building was acquired in December 2002 and was renovated for a total project cost of $7 million. It will process frozen Asian food.

Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream recently broke ground on a $100 million expansion project that will triple the capacity of its Bakersfield, CA manufacturing facility. The project will add 400,000 square feet and five ice cream production lines. It is expected to create 250 new jobs and open in Spring 2005.

Designed to handle 400,000 heads of cattle per day, Caviness Beef Packers plans to build a new beef processing facility in Hereford, TX, three miles from its current location. The new 750-acre site will be operational in 2005.
