Jelly Belly expects to complete its long-delayed Thailand plant in Rayong this year. The 50,000 sq.-ft. facility will employ approximately 50 people and be capable of producing five million pounds of Jelly Belly beans a year for the Asian and Middle Eastern markets.
Sconza Candy Company purchased the former Hershey Chocolate facility in Oakdale, CA, and will relocate its corporate office and all operations to Oakdale. The 300,000 sq.-ft. facility is located in California’s Central Valley on approximately 70 acres of land.
Kerry Inc., a flavor producer based in Ireland, is expanding its manufacturing plant in St. Louis, MO at the former site of Nestlé USA, which closed five years ago. The company is overhauling an existing facility and building a 55,000 sq.-ft. refrigerated storage and dry storage facility.
LiquiPur Holdings, Inc. will open two plants in Janesville, WI. The company specializes in nutritional, organic liquid beverages and will begin production with a 62,000 sq.-ft. hot-fill facility in early 2009 after the completion of extensive upgrades to a leased facility in Janesville this fall. Later this year, the company will begin construction on a 77,000 sq.-ft. aseptic food and beverage production plant to be completed in 2009.
