Study shows no significant association between BPA, adverse health outcomes

A new US study, based on the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), found no significant association between bisphenol A and adverse health outcomes. However, the study’s authors cautioned against using cross-sectional datasets such as NHANES to draw conclusions about short-lived environmental chemicals and chronic complex diseases, saying, “We need to expend resources on appropriately designed epidemiologic studies and toxicological explorations to understand whether these types of chemicals play a causal role in chronic diseases.” To read the full study, click here.
