USDA has re-listed XL Foods’ Establishment 38 in Brooks, Alberta, CA, allowing it to resume exports to the US. The meat processing facility was under review by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) after a routine test on September 4 identified a positive E. Coli sample in raw beef trimmings. USDA informed CFIA that the facility had been re-listed following a renewed commitment to food safety regulations. Enhanced CFIA oversight activities will be ongoing.
