A federal judge has signed a consent agreement that will vacate FDA’s suspension order against Sunland Inc., a manufacturer and distributor of peanut products linked to a 2012 outbreak of Salmonella Bredeney. Sunland will have to comply with the conditions of the consent agreement to the agency’s satisfaction before it can begin to process or distribute food. Conditions include retaining an independent sanitation expert to develop and help implement a sanitation control program and conducting environmental monitoring at its peanut butter production plant.
