Washington to vote on Genetically Modified Food labeling

Washington State Legislature’s session came to an end on Sunday, April 28 without taking action on Initiative 522, a genetically modified foods labeling law. The legislature’s failure to vote on the initiative means it will be placed on November’s ballot in language written by its sponsors. The bill closely mirrors the California “Right to Know” law that was defeated in 2012.
