Antimicrobial treatments

January 1, 2010

Zep’s Peroxy-Serve peroxyacetic acid-based antimicrobial treatments reduce spoilage and harmful microorganisms on all types of raw food products, as well as whole and cut fruits and vegetables. They can also be used to sanitize food processing equipment surfaces, including ice machines. The treatments are effective against a range of organisms (depending on formulation), including E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella cholerasuis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Listeria monocytogenes, Bacillus subtilis and Aspergillis niger, among others. Peroxy-Serve 5 and Peroxy-Serve 15 products are EPA-registered, FDA-approved and acceptable for use in organic production facilities. Peroxy-Serve MPS can be used as a spray, cooling water or dip-tank application on red meat parts, trim and organs; as an antimicrobial on poultry carcasses, parts and organs; and in water and ice to prepare, process or store seafood.
