OPP film

January 5, 2005
A heat-sealable, co-extruded, metallized OPP film designed to replace the foil and sealant in traditional paper-polyethylene-foil-polyethylene structures, Torayfan PCFS, eliminates the sealant extrusion coating step in the converting process, says Toray Plastics, the manufacturer. The film has a low shear storage modulus that provides increased flow and improved hermetic seals, says the company. It is suitable for packet and stand-up pouch applications, including hot cocoa, seasoning, soup, rice, croutons, stuffing, dried cheese, powdered beverages and nutrition/energy drinks.
