MBA Poultry plans to build a corporate headquarters and final processing, packaging and distribution center in Waverly, NE. The plant should open early next year and will cover 30 acres.



Heat and Control opened a manufacturing facility in Nanjing, China, in an effort to provide a local center for China's food processing machinery, product testing and service needs. The site includes 23,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space, 16,000 sq. ft. of office space for engineering, sales and service and a 2,000-sq.-ft. technical center.

Cargill is expanding its manufacturing capacity for OptaFlex natural chondroitin sulfate, which is used in food and supplement applications, at its Denver, CO, facility.

A $20 million expansion project is planned for Sanderson Farms' Collins, MI, poultry processing facility and hatchery. The facility currently serves both retail and big bird deboning customers, but will be converted to process exclusively for the big bird deboning market. The project will include an expansion of the hatchery, retrofitting certain equipment in the plant and the construction of a new feed mill.
