Designed to evaluate texture properties of solid and semi-solid foods, Instron’s 5500 series provides measurements for food tests ranging from shear and tension tests on meats to staling and deformation of bakery products. Available in a range of sizes and capacities, the 5500 series can be combined with accessories such as a drip pan and interchangeable grips. Instron’s drip pan is designed to minimize splash and can be fitted with all of its test fixtures. The interchangeable grips allow the system to test mechanical properties of food packaging in addition to food textures.
