National GMO label law introduced

Legislators reintroduced the Safe & Accurate Food Labeling Act last week, following a House committee meeting discussing mandatory biotechnology labeling laws.

 If passed, the legislation would make FDA the authority on GMO labeling and block any state attempts to label products containing GMOs.

The cow that tested positive for the condition was born two years after Canada instituted tougher bans on animal feed to prevent the disease.
