Food Grade Grease Fundamentals


Food Grade Greases are commonly used lubricants in food and beverage facilities. There are advantages and disadvantages to greases compared to other types of lubricants. Various base fluid types and thickeners available for grease formulation provide a wide array of characteristics to choose from. Grease bench tests measure these characteristics and help in determining how a grease will behave in use. Proper storage, handling, and application considerations are also important for proper use of food grade grease.
