Harnessing Consumer Influence for Optimal Supply Chain Performance

The ascendency of the consumer is having a profound effect on the way that consumer-facing manufacturers are looking at the future of their supply chains. While cost remains a critical factor, many companies are thinking about how to embed a "service centricity." At the same time, these companies are facing an increasing disconnect between supply-side complexity and demand-side volatility in the supply chain. Combine that with the increasing pressure for compressed order lead times and "mass" customization, and we end up with an increased focus on fulfillment excellence.

  • Trends that are driving fulfillment excellence
  • Implications for the consumer-facing manufacturer
  • Activities that underpin a service-centricity
  • Some industry examples for fulfillment excellence
  • Guidance for manufacturers
