The Innovation Center for US Dairy released two new resources for dairy producers and processors designed to improve sustainability performance through better tracking and communication across the supply chain. A draft of “Stewardship and Sustainability Guide for US Dairy: A voluntary framework for tracking and communicating progress” is available for a 60-day stakeholder consultation period, and the 2012 US Dairy Sustainability Report is now available at http://www.USDairy.com/SustinabilityReporting. The Stewardship and Sustainability Guide identifies the most important factors for assessing sustainability based on scientific life cycle assessment studies and practical experience of industry members and experts.
