Scoring system

Pechiney Plastic Packaging Inc. unveiled the LaserTear, a precise scoring technology that creates easy-to-open tear lines set exactly to manufacturer’s specifications. According to the company, LaserTear forms a directional score in the film–be it plastic, foil or paper–that can be a straight line or two-dimensional.

This product is designed for advanced applications such as selective layer cutting, through cutting and perforating, and compliments barrier and zipper packaging designs. It can be used for single-serve, stick packs and stand-up pouches.
