Bioplastic materials

January 10, 2012
Mirel bioplastic materials have physical properties comparable to petroleum-based resins but are biobased and biodegradable in natural soil and water environments, home composting systems and industrial composting facilities. Heat resistant to 212°F, the Mirel injection molding series of bioplastics offers a range of stiffness and modulus. Uses include caps, closures, jars and tubs. Mirel thermoforming material has a high heat resistance and is available for cold and hot cups, cup lids, yogurt containers, tubs and trays for meat and vegetables, condiment cups and other single-service food applications.
