New CPG survey offers winning trends

Grocery Manufacturer’s Association (GMA) announced the release of a 2013 report on how food and beverage consumer packaged goods companies can convert big data to useful analytics and insight. The report, “Formula for Growth – (Innovation)Big Data & Analytics”, utilized more than 10 months of research by Deloitte and offers five conclusions: first, few operations have the required analytic foundation in place; second, the rapid-fire pace of innovation requires data and analytics competency; third, industry is moving from linear change to exponential disruption; fourth, integrated and cross-functional business planning is necessary; and finally, there has been a cultural shift in the characteristics and traits of new industry winners.
