Reactive extrusion technology

Available for batch or continuous operation, LIST process equipment is ideally suited for reactive extrusion applications. With a variety of process designs, LIST can provide low shear mixing and high heat transfer area for excellent temperature control. The large free volume of LIST reactors allows for longer retention times than conventional extruders and the ability to vary retention time independent of mixing intensity even in a continuous processor. The LIST single or twin screw discharge can be integrated directly into the reactor to provide extrusion discharge. Materials of construction are selected to be compatible with the process requirements and can include 300 or 400 series stainless, high-strength carbon steels and more exotic metals. Discharge pressures up to 1,500 psig can be achieved even with full vacuum on the suction side.
