Dole Food Co. promoted Peter Gilmore to vice president, Eastern Seaboard sourcing. Gilmore joined Dole in 1979 as a management analyst. His most current role with the company was vice president, business development for Dole Fresh Fruit. Dole Food Co. also promoted Keith Mitchell to vice president, chief financial officer for Dole Fresh Fruit North America. With the company since 1993, his most recent position was director of finance and administration, Dole Fresh Fruit Europe.
Bridgford Foods' board of directors elected William Bridgford as chairman of the board. He was promoted from president of the company to succeed Allan Bridgford, who was elected senior chairman. John Simmons is now president of the company.
Kraft Foods is selling its Milk-Bone pet snacks brand and assets to Del Monte Corp. for $580 million. The Milk-Bone brand generated about $180 million in net revenue in 2005.
The Food Marketing Institute (FMI) named Jeff Rumachik as executive director of its wholesaler division, where he will develop and implement wholesaler member retention and recruitment, facilitate member-to-member networking opportunities, and identify and communicate key issues and trends to wholesalers. Rumachik will continue to serve as group director of field services, which he has led since March 2000.
Maui Land & Pineapple Co. named Robert Webber chief financial officer and senior vice president of business. The company also appointed Warren Haruki as class three director.
The US Poultry & Egg Association elected three new members to its board of directors for 2006, including Hugh Cholick of Novus International, Donnie King of Tyson Foods and Wendell Shelton of Gold Kist. The association also elected Henry Welch as vice chairman of the board, Norman Robinson as immediate past chairman of the board and Monty Henderson as secretary of the board.
William Bloyer joined Golden Oval Eggs as vice president supply chain. Most recently he served as vice president of operation and supply chain for the Bakery and Food Service division of International Multifoods.
Let's Dish, a retail meal preparation company, hired Kerry Kramp as chief executive officer.
Dr. Ernie McCullough joins ASI Food Safety Consultants as vice president of technical services. McCullough worked with companies such as Sara Lee, Culinary Foods and Chiquita Brands.
Coffee Holding Co., Inc. has entered into a joint venture with Caruso's Coffee of Brecksville, OH. Terms of the agreement permit Generations Coffee Co., a Delaware limited liability company, to roast, package and sell private label specialty coffee products from the Brecksville, OH, location. Coffee Holding will own 60% and Caruso's will own 40% of the joint venture. Coffee Holding will be the exclusive supplier of coffee inventory for the venture.
