In food manufacturing, conveyor belts loop around the plant. Products riding on them must go from point A to point B quickly—without breakdowns. In some cases, they also need to travel with precision around complex turns and tricky inclines to arrive at the right place at the right time to go through the slicer, fryer, tray packer or other machines without colliding or causing a jam-up. In addition, belt surfaces must suit the products they touch, especially those that are sticky. Without belts, production just won’t happen.
