Chobani pulls some yogurt after mold discovery

Greek yogurt maker Chobani says it has identified a common mold responsible for recent reports of yogurt bloating or swelling in cups. The company says the problem occurred at its new Idaho facility, and affects less than five percent of its production. A formal recall has not been issued, and Chobani did not say how many cups or what varieties were affected.

A spokesman for Kroger, the nation's largest traditional supermarket operator, confirmed that the incident did not represent a food safety issue. Customers described discoloration, changes in smell and taste as well as soupy texture in affected cups.
