Pineland Farms recently completed construction of a 13,000-sq.-ft. specialty cheese plant in New Gloucester, ME.

Pineland Farms recently completed construction of a 13,000-sq.-ft. specialty cheese plant in New Gloucester, ME. The new facility is located on Pineland Farms 4,000-acre working farm and will use a portion of the annual milk production to produce value-added farmstead cheese products.



Reser's Fine Foods opened a new plant in Topeka, KS. With the addition of this plant and the 275 jobs it created, the company now employs a total of 765 people in its three Topeka plants. The newest facility is slated to produce 125 million pounds of salad in its first year.



AmeriCold is undergoing construction at several locations. The company expanded freezer capacity at its West Point, MS, facility, creating 4,400 new pallet positions. A $12 million, 93,000-sq.-ft. expansion at its Albertville, AL, facility will add an additional 12,000 pallets of storage space and double the size of the facility, creating 4.9 million cu. ft. of total capacity. Additional blast freezing capacity has been added to the Columbia, SC, facility. The half-million dollar investment includes the construction of two blast cells, modification of the existing refrigeration system and installation of new storage racks within the 1.6 million-cu.-ft. facility.



Capriani Harrison Valve Corp. opened a state-of-the-art, ISO 9001:2000 certified factory that will produce hygienic valves, filters and spray balls, which are fully traceable, 3A-approved and made from stainless steel forgings.
