Survey to determine fate of proposed food e-business

Penn State University, University Park, Penn., is considering developing an e-business program with unique applications to the food processing industry. The Market Research department in the Outreach and Continuing Education program at PSU has developed a survey to determine interest in this type of program. Response from the survey, which was sent out to 1000 selected individuals in the food industry and is posted on-line, will ultimately determine the fate of the program.

"There are a lot of generic e-commerce programs but we haven't come across any that target agribusiness specifically," said PSU researcher Naana Nti. "If we receive enough positive responses, then this program will go up very quickly."

In the survey, there is a special section inquiring about topics of interest to participants. Users can access the survey on-line at or contact Nti for a hard copy of the survey at 814-865-7600.
