ACS Valves’ CI Series of rotary valves provides processing operations continuous performance, reduced maintenance and optimal energy efficiency in dust collection applications. The valves’ bearing design manages applications with pressure differentials up to 15psig; the outboard design protects the bearings in high-temperature applications to 750ºF and removes bearings from the path of damaging and contaminating materials. The CI Series 8-vane rotor architecture improves process energy efficiency by minimizing pressure loss throughout the system, and features a simultaneous 2-vane inlet and 2-vane outlet that maintains accurate pressure differentials, reducing compressed air requirements. The rotary valves are available in cast iron; 304 or 316 stainless steel; and sizes from 10 to 44 in. Rotor configurations include closed-end, metering, shallow-pocket, Teflon-coated and adjustable-tip. Adjustable rotor tips are available in EDPM, hardened steel, stainless steel, bronze or polyurethane. Interior surface coating options include hard chrome, tungsten and Teflon.

The Food Defense Strategy Exchange (FDSE) is a forum for food defense professionals to interact and share their knowledge and experiences. At the most recent FDSE, a poll of attendees revealed that approximately two-thirds were either re-evaluating their existing food defense plan, or implementing new food defense plans. In this podcast, Don Hsieh, Director of Commercial and Industrial Marketing at Tyco Integrated Security, discusses this topic and other findings from the exchange, and offers some best practices to proactively protect a company’s brand from food adulteration.
