USDA’s Under Secretary for Food Safety in conjunction with the Food Safety and Inspection Service will hold a public meeting to discuss agenda items for the upcoming 36^th session of the Codex Alimentarius Commission. The meeting will be held June 18 from 1 to 4 pm at USDA headquarters, The Jamie L. Whitten Building, 1400 Independence Avenue SW, Room 107-A, Washington, DC 20250. 

During the meeting, the committee will discuss the election of a chairperson and vice chair; strategic planning for the CAC; amendments to Codex standards and related texts; appointment of regional coordinators; matters referred to CAC by Codex committees and task forces; and matters of interest arising from the Food and Agriculture Organization and the World Health Organization (FAO/WHO) and other international organizations.
