Most Americans uninformed about healthy summer eating choices

According to a new survey of 1,500 adult US consumers, 62 percent were unaware of the American Dietetic Association’s daily fiber intake recommendation and half had no idea what their daily fiber intake was. One in five respondents even claimed to get fiber by eating lots of fish—even though fish is not a source of fiber. About half of respondents expressed interest in eating healthier in summer, and 68 percent said they eat more fruits and vegetables in summer.
