Global chocolate manufacturer the Hershey Company and Palantir Technologies, Inc.—a software company closer associated to the CIA and US Department of Homeland Security—have teamed up to build a consortium of consumer packaged goods manufacturers.

According to Palantir, the group will utilize its data analysis expertise to share and swap data in order to stay in front of emerging trends that impact the CPG industry.

“By putting cutting-edge technology in the hands of visionary leaders, we’re helping our CPG partners evolve their business and serve consumers better in a rapidly changing industry landscape,” Palantir said.

The companies told Fortune the new data hub will allow companies to learn about consumer purchasing trends that will allow them to adjust business strategies. According to Fortune the companies did not say how the consortium will run, share data or if any other companies will participate.
