Asahi’s three-way Type 23 multiport ball valves have a cross port ball with a molded flow corridor inside its cavity to allow distinct flow patterns: L-port flow pattern with flow coming in through the bottom port and diverting out the valve’s left or right port; T-port flow pattern that allows mixing of all three ports of the valve, with two ports used as inlets with one common outlet; and straight-through flow pattern with flow passing through the “run” of the valve, isolating and shutting off the bottom port. All three flow patterns are set by rotating the valve handle.
