Swiping the Spotlight

PACK EXPO and the Food Processing Machinery Expo take the stage in Vegas.

Held at the Las Vegas Convention Center, this year’s PACK EXPO and Food Processing Machinery Expo will occupy more than 500,000 net square feet of exhibit space.
As the desert sun rises on October 13, 17,000 food industry professionals will descend on Paris, New York, and Venice. Impossible? Not if you’re one of the many heading to Las Vegas, NV, as the city of lights hosts PACK EXPO and the Food Processing Machinery Expo from October 13-15, 2003. The three-day event offers a number of opportunities to network with key industry executives from the food/vegetable, bakery/snack, beverage, meat/poultry/seafood, confectionary, dairy, grain/mill/cereal and fresh produce industries.

Sponsored by the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (PMMI) and the Food Processing Machinery Association (FMPA), the two expos will feature over 1,100 companies occupying more than 500,000 net square feet.

In addition, the show includes the Conference at PACK EXPO, which offers seminars to explore issues such as RFID technology, the Bioterrorism Preparedness Act, and emerging technology and trends in packaging. Scheduled to run during each morning of the show, the program begins with an “Eye Opener” session featuring a keynote presentation. The program is then divided into three time periods each day, with four concurrent sessions planned for each time slot. This year, for the first time, attendees have the option of attending single conference sessions or participating in the full program.

A new Containers & Materials Pavilion will feature the Showcase of Packaging Innovations, a gallery of more than 300 award-winning packages from several different internationally recognized organizations and government institutions including the Environmental Protection Agency, the DuPont Company, Flexible Packaging Association, Food Service & Packaging Institute, Glass Packaging Institute, Institute of Packaging Professionals, and Paperboard Packaging Council.

Attendees can save 50 percent off of the registration fee by accessing www.packexpo.com. The registration fee includes access to exhibits for all three days as well as entrance to the Food Processing Machinery Expo and the Containers & Materials Pavilion. For more information about PACK EXPO, attendees can also call (703) 243-8555 or email expo@pmmi.org.
