The Pulsemaster Solidus pulsed electric field (PEF) pilot-scale batch unit determines the effects of PEF on the plant cell viability of potatoes intended for making French fries and potato chips; trials with PEF can be performed with whole solids, such as single potatoes, vegetables or fruits, or several pounds per batch. The unit also can be used with specialty potato products or other raw materials, such as sweet potatoes, cassava, beetroot and carrots.
