Intended for multi-layer bags with PE layers or an in-liner that is difficult to de-aerate, Behn + Bates’s impeller packer includes a metal detector in its filling channel. A product-specific designed impeller wheel uses high pressure to fill bags and eliminate the need for further de-aeration. An ultrasound sealing system provides a dust-tight seal after filling. A minimum of air can be added to avoid product blocking. If metal is detected in product, an alarm signal is emitted, the product is filled into the bag, and the operator can manually remove the bag from the filling spout.
